I never really liked any of the Planet of the Apes movies, but my brother can’t get enough of it. He’s trying to get me to see this, and seeing as I often agree with you, being a long-time fan and a first-time commenter, maybe this one will be as good as you say it is.
OTOH, compared to RIPD, they are like what you’d get if you put Metropolis, Serenity, The Matrix, Dark City and The Empire Strikes Back into a blender. (Please eviscerate RIPD fairly soon!!)
